Emily McCulliss

Global Nature Photographer & Expedition Guide

Emily McCulliss is a nature and wildlife photographer, visual storyteller, and expedition guide based on Maui, Hawaii. Her work lives at the intersection of wild places and the people drawn to them, and a deep belief that something shifts in us when we step into truly unfiltered nature.

Her path began at fourteen, when she left home to help launch an international traveling school. From living in a hammock while chasing waves in Costa Rica to documenting whale sharks in Australia's remote waters, she has always been drawn to the experiences that exist just outside the expected.

Her background spans marine biology, biology, chemistry, neuroscience, psychology, and business. But it was in the waters off Mexico, eye-to-eye with blue marlins and humpback whales, that her purpose became clear- to connect people to extraordinary encounters in nature, and the moments of recognition that follow.

That purpose takes shape across photography, visual storytelling, expedition guiding, and writing. Working across all seven continents,  from underwater, surface level or aerial perspectives, she concentrates on the behaviors, patterns, and movement of landscapes and wildlife in their truest form. Photography, guiding, writing:  three practices that form one mission: Inspire your Today to Change Your Tomorrow.

Beyond the lens, Emily leads small-group expeditions to places she has spent years seeking out tracking snow leopards across Mongolia, swimming with oceanic predators in Baja, standing before one of the few remaining large bull elephants in Kenya. Wild, rarely witnessed corners of the world are chosen because they tend to shift something in how you see everything, including yourself. These journeys center on moments where nature becomes both mirror and mentor-  reconnecting us to something essential about our shared humanity, with the possibility of quiet discovery of capabilities we didn't know we had.

Her writing connects the majesty of these wild places and what they return us to. Not just what we see, but what we feel standing before something greater than ourselves.

Her work has been featured in the Wall Street Journal Global Luxury Edition, Luxe Magazine, and Colorado Homes & Lifestyles, and exhibited at Red Dot Miami, Art Santa Fe, D'art Gallery, and Montage Kapalua Bay, with representation through Chamoun Gallery in Montreal and Banana Contemporary in Mexico City.

Emily's work is always growing, bringing her community closer to the wild places, and expanding the ways to be part of it. Speaking engagements, new books, active projects, and bespoke expeditions. Join her mailing list the best way to stay close to the work, the wild, and what's ahead.

Unlock the Essence of the Human Experience
- Together, we can explore, learn, and inspire change within ourselves and our relationship with the world around us.

Let's embark on this journey where curiosity meets courage and elevate your life story by unlocking the essence of the human experience-
I aspire to be someone who inspires humankind

Being human is messy, imperfect, paradoxical, a juxtaposition of boundries, uncertain, fearful, joyful, uncomfortable, and full of growth.

I am living my human experience, and it is through elements of humanness that I hope to inspire our shared humanity.

In the specifics of my journey, I believe the universal resonates.

I HOPE TO INSPIRE TODAY TO CHANGE YOUR TOMORROW
